You can check your credit report for free here – you should always check your credit score once a year to make sure you are on top of you history with the three main credit reporting agencies. We know this is a pain to go and do, but it only takes a few minutes. Too many borrowers, consumers – people don’t realize their credit score has gotten worse because of some unfair reporting by a lender or business.
Many times businesses or banks will report a “ding” against your credit rating, and it’s not at all accurate. You must get these false reports OFF your credit history if you want to maintain the highest possible FICO score. You would be very surprised to find out how many of these false reports have been placed on your history, and until you get on top of it, and get it sorted out your FICO will dip (or dive) down.
When your FICO score drops like this, lenders will charge you more in interest on loans you apply and get approved for, and in some cases the Credit Card companies will jack up your interest rates, costing you allot of money. We’ve seen our visitors and borrowers open their credit card statements to find massive increases in their interest rates and be terribly surprised! Then they have to go sort it out – the first step to sorting it all out, is to find out EXACTLY what your credit report states.
